During the 2018 Animus Women’s Innovation Summit, event co-founder Lucienne Gigante speaks with Olympic Gold Medalist Mónica Puig to discuss her career, triumphs and challenges.

Mónica Puig is the highest ranked Latin American female tennis player in the world, #42 on the WTA Tour. An Olympic champion, she won a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and winning her first WTA title in France in 2014. A beloved Puerto Rican icon, Monica won gold medals at the 2010, 2014 and 2018 Central American Games, becoming the first Puerto Rican athlete to win three consecutive CAG gold medals. She won a silver medal at the 2011 Pan American Games and a bronze medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games.

Lucienne Gigante has vast experience in advertising, marketing, crisis management and brand transformation. She has developed numerous successful corporate social responsibility platforms, some in the banking sector, such as “Women of Success,” which created more than 40 new women-owned businesses and more than 70 new jobs. She has received over 50 awards, including the American Banking Association’s “Social Impact Award,” SME’s “Top Management Award” and PR News’ “Community Person of the Year.” Lucienne served as board member of the Council on the Environment of New York City. The Puerto Rico Senate’s Commission on Women Issues recognized her for her achievements.
