During her address at the 2017 Animus Women’s innovation Summit, Bettina Mercado discusses her journey to success and highlights the tools that were key to reaching her goals.
In 2001 Bettina Mercado took over M&J, a 40-year-old family business dedicated to the distribution of foreign beauty products. Within 10 years, M&J was making its own brand of cosmetics and skin care designed for Latinas: Bettina Cosmetics. During her tenure as president, the company has grown 400 percent, created 28 jobs and become the leading brand of nail enamel in Puerto Rico. Among her awards are MBDA’s Female Entrepreneur of the Year by the MBDA and PRMA’s Manufacturer and Entrepreneur of the Year.
Animus is an innovation summit designed to inspire women to reach their highest level of personal and professional development.
Animus is for all women—employees, executives, entrepreneurs, future entrepreneurs, volunteers—anyone who wants to grow and make a difference.
